Barons back in action this Weekend!

The EDG Property Solihull Barons are back in action this weekend as they face old foes the Blackburn Hawks in what should be another thrilling Hobs Moat battle.

The Hawks have a number of key players to watch for. Former captain James Royds returns to the fold having stepped away from the game during the covid disruption while young star Tate Shudra is on a two-way with national league Leeds Knights. Also returning are big scorers Jacob Lutwyche, James Riddoch and Latvian defenceman Devids Jurinenoks.

The Hawks have already begun their 23-24 Moralee campaign with a 4-2 win over league newcomers the Hull Jets last Sunday and will be keen to continue to get more points on the board this weekend. Prior to coming to Hobs Moat the Lancashire side will have a long drive back down from Scotland having faced Kilmarnock Thunder on Saturday as part of an EIHA/SNL crossover tournament.

The Barons will be keen to set down a mark on the league table and keep the points in the Midlands on Sunday evening. The game will also mark the debut of exciting new signing Danny Haid, with the dangermen on the home ice will be spearheaded by the Mulcahy brothers and Niklas Ottosson.

There was an excellent crowd at the Oxford game and the boys will be looking for more of the same on Sunday! Get down to the rink and make yourself heard!!! Face-off Sunday 17th September – 5.30pm
