The Solihull Barons are delighted to announce the return of a number of key players from 2016-17.

First up is Barons stalwart Rich Slater who returns for another year with the Red and White. A local player who came through the ranks of the Barons junior, one-man club Slater has shown is credentials with Solihull, notching up his 200th goal last season to make him third in the Barons all time scoring lists.

Joining Rich on the Barons forward lines is Tom Soar who has chalked up nearly 100 points through the Barons two seasons in the top National level division. The rangey Soar has most commonly formed a scoring partnership with the already announced Niklas Ottosson, the Swede commonly making the play with Soar playing the triggerman and the pair will no doubt hope to continue this into the new season.

Next up we have goalie Josh Nicholls who will find himself once more between the pipes for the Barons. Nicholls, a player who plays the game with his heart in his sleeve, has shown time and time again that, when on form, is a match for the best in the league.

Ryan Selwood will once more be a key figure on the Solihull blue line as he too returns for another season. A player capable of playing every inch of the ice, “Selly” is perhaps at his best turning over forwards and transitioning into attack.
The Barons would also like to take the chance to thank long-standing players Phil Knight, Sam Hewitt and Kieran Papps who will not return for 2017-18. All three have been great assets to the Barons over the years and we wish them all the best going forward.
