Ben Lee backstopping Barons again

21 year old goalie Ben Lee will once more continue to serve in net with the EDG Property Solihull Barons with a continuation of his current 2-way deal with the NIHL Coventry Blaze.

For Lee himself the chance of getting between the pipes once more at Hobs Moat is one he is relishing as he continues to build his game.

“I’m pleased to be returning to the Barons again for the 23/24 season, I’m looking forward to seeing where we can go this season and hoping we can build on last year’s achievements.  See you all in September.

For head coach Phil Lee having solid back-up options to number 1 goalie Graham Laverick is essential for a successful campaign.

“23/24 will be the fourth season that Ben has been part of the team. With Sam’s decision to not play this season, it has created an opportunity for Ben to move to the back -up netminders position. In the last few weeks of last season, we saw Ben supporting Graham in a greater number of games after Sam took an injury. Ben has for the last two seasons been on a two-way arrangement with Coventry NIHL Blaze to gain valuable experience, and will again be continuing with this arrangement. Ben works extremely hard on and off the ice, and is totally dedicated to his own development. It is important to develop younger players to add to the talent pool. Welcome back Ben.

The squad is nearly all confirmed but keep following through July and August for all the latest news on the upcoming season.
