The EDG Property Solihull Barons are very pleased to be bringing back our own Super Swede Niklas Ottosson for another year at Hobs Moat. With undoubtedly some of the best hands in the league and tremendous levels of hockey nous, Niklas has been at the heart of the Barons for nearly a decade. It should comes as no surprise that Coach Phil Lee is delighted to have Niklas back again.
“I am delighted to bring Nik back for the 23/24 season. Nik is a highly skilled player and is at home putting the puck in the net or blocking shots in the defensive zone. This combined with his excellent hockey IQ, his awareness and vision and silky moves, makes Nik a very dangerous opponent. We are very fortunate to have a player of Nik’s calibre in the team and he is pivotal to the first line, helping them to gel and make scoring opportunities for his line mates. Nik has the drive and determination and wants to win every game, never giving anything less than 100%. Nik is also a calming influence in the dressing room and is well respected within the team, and we couldn’t be more pleased to have him return. Welcome back Nik.
Niklas himself is very excited about lacing up the skates and pulling on a Barons shirt once more :
“I have been having some great conversations with Leepy over the summer. I wasn’t sure I had another season in me however with the New Barons campaign it’s something I couldn’t say no to, with great support from my family we were able to make it happen and sign for another season making it my 9th season with the Barons. I’m excited to see what this team can do on the ice and to meet some new faces, I think we should aim high! We will give everything we can to give the fans what they deserve, and hopefully it can take us one step further than last season. There is also a lot of plans and ideas coming from the new sponsors which I really like, this will help the club massively with taking that next step. I hope to see you all down the rink in September. Have a great summer!
