Two Weeks to Go!!!

It’s just two weeks to go until your EDG property Solihull Barons step back onto the ice for their first game of the 2023-24; a challenge tie against the Oxford City Stars of Division 1 South.

For Barons supporters this will be your first match night glimpse of the new Solihull squad which has seen a number of changes in personnel in the off-season. Big signing Alex Whyte joins from Milton Keynes, while a raft of promising youngsters such as Billy Crofts, Jacob Race and Charlie Webb will also be making their Solihull debuts. Barons favourites will also be on show including Nik Ottosson, the Mulcahy brothers, Richard Crowe and Graham Laverick so a strong squad should be on the ice.

Facing them will be the Oxford City Stars, a side which has seen its own set of Summer signings including import forward Dylan Hullaby. Their biggest acquisition over the Summer is however former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Čech, who has joined the Oxford side for the upcoming season and will be hoping to continue to show the strong form he demonstrated in net for Chelmsford Chieftains last season. Danger man to look out for the Stars could be 20 year old Bailey Hind-Pitcher with a better than a goal a game average in a limited programme last season.

Don’t miss out and get yourself down to the rink for what should be some good end to end hockey! This is a season ticket game, so for those who have purchased passes, these will be collectable on the door.

Remember this is a Saturday tie, 2nd September, face-off 6:30pm!!!

With lots of new faces for the Barons and the return of some great names let’s get down and make it loud!!!
