Stanley and Jolly back for more with the Barons

The Solihull Barons have added to their forward line options for 2022-23 by bringing back the experienced Paul Stanley and the emerging talent of Jordan Jolly.

In Paul Stanley the Barons have a forward who can not only carry the puck the length of the ice faster than most in the league but who is also not afraid to do the gritty work in and around the crease. Phil Lee clearly recognises the skills mix offered up by Stanley and is delighted to welcome him back.

“Stano is a quick player with high intensity and his physical presence often puts D men on edge when forechecking, which forces the D to make mistakes in their own end. Stano also has great speed which helps him create opportunities in the opponent’s end. It is good to have you back on board Stano for the new season.

Stanley, for his part, was delighted with the recall and to have the chance to pull on a Barons jersey for another year.

“After having a quick chat with Leapy about coming back, it was a quick yes.
I’m looking forward to another season of being a Baron and excited too see how the team shapes up under Leapy for this coming season. Will also be great to see the fans again and give it my all for the shirt.

Also coming back to Solihull is Jordan Jolly who joined the Barons midway through the last season. The 23 year old had spent most of his career playing out of Telford but was no stranger to Hobs Moat having iced for the U20 Barons through 2016-17. Quickly fitting in to the Barons last season Jolly also made his U23 International debut having been selected for England’s Spring fixtures. Phil Lee was keen to see how Jolly could build on this progress and is enthusiastic about his return :

“I am extremely pleased that Jordan has agreed to return for the 22/23 season. A talented young player who only moved to the Barons from Telford in February 22. Jordan was the only player to get on the scoresheet against Denmark when he represented England for the U23 in April this year. I look forward to working with Jordan for the forthcoming season.

The move to Hobs Moat has clearly been good for Jolly himself and he is keen to ensure he can make the most of the opportunity offered by the Barons.

”I can definitely say I’m very excited about returning to the Barons for what will be my first full season in Solihull. Whilst here for the back end of last season, I can really see what a great organisation this is. It’s so great to be back with the boys for this coming season. Just can’t wait to get started!!

The 22-23 squad is coming together so keep following to find out more exciting news on plans and signings as we gear up for the Autumn.
