Perry back for one last game !

Doyle

Perry Doyle will be back on the ice for one last time this weekend as the APL Solihull Barons take on the Blackburn Hawks this weekend.

Perry took the decision to step onto the bench full time earlier this season but has felt that there was still some unfinished business with no opportunity to properly say a thank you to the fans who have supported his career over the years.

With the Barons are assured of a play-off spot Sunday’s tie could still have some bearing on the seeding for April’s finals.

Looking ahead to the play-offs Perry was keen to see the team in the best possible shape going into the finals.

Sunday will be an important game for us. It is going to be important to win. There are the points of course but really we want to end the home season on a high for the fans, old and new, who turn out week in and week out to support us. It means a lot to the guys and the more people there on Sunday the better as we want the win for ourselves too.

Blackburn have really come up on the rails this season, all credit to them and we need to show we can do a good job against them to set us up for Sheffield.

I am going on the ice for one last time Sunday, so yes, I am really looking forward to saying a big thank you to the fans for their fantastic support over the years, but will be there on the ice to do a real job and make sure the boys can do what they need to do.

When the 60 minutes are up it will be emotional but until then I am out to do what I need to.
