The Barons will have their hands full on Sunday evening with the visit of the league leading Solway Sharks to Hobs Moat. Dumfries based Sharks have had an extremely positive start to the season, going unbeaten in the league, including capturing the points on Solihull's trip over the border in early October.
The Sharks have achieved their success without necessarily having an array of stars but rather a strong overall line up of solid young prospects backed by a few experienced heads. On the forward lines the likes of teenager Connor Henderson, Joe Coulter and Finn Kim Meittinen have been regular snipers for the Sharks aided by skilled playmaker Stevie Moore and Sharks stalwart Struan Tonner. The young netminding duo of Calum Hepburn and Kieran Hobbins have also shown considerable confidence in goal no doubt bolstered by the likes of veteran Slovak D-man Juraj Senko keeping opposition forwards honest.
For the Barons this will be a big challenge and coach Perry Doyle will be hoping for a full bench from which to draw his lines. The last visit of the Sharks to Hobs Moat was toward the end of last season in a game which saw the Barons emerge the right side of a 3-1 win - Joe Henry, Josh Bruce & Niklas Ottosson with the goals. The game was also notable for a line brawl in the final 10 seconds of the tie. A disciplined and skilled performance will however be needed on Sunday night by the Barons with a strong and noisy support key to supporting this.
