More players for U20s roster…

The Solihull Barons u20s continue to move forwards towards the new season with additional players  being added to the squad in the form of Tom Ryder, Jack Hardy, Louie Farthing, Aimee Hollingsworth & Kristaps Lejins.

Tom Ryder, having completed a successful season with the u20s last year, has again stepped forward to join the team again proving he has the drive and passion that made him a stand out figure of the team last season. A fast, skilful forward who is not afraid to work hard on the ice, Tom also brings with him useful knowledge of the rules having previously iced as an official, along with his father Steve and brother Dan, across a number of leagues.

Jack Hardy is welcomed back to the squad proving himself a useful utility player for the team last season. Not afraid to jump into any situation the team required, Jack played a large proportion of the season in defence for the team. As a qualified level one coach Jack proves to be an asset to the team and his team mates on and off the ice.

Louis Farthing joins the team as a full player having made the decision to concentrate on the u20s and develop further and forego his last season at u18s. Louis is a no-nonsense forward who works hard for the team, creating problems for the opposition when on the ice. A key figure in both the u18s and u20s last season, it is hoped Louis can produce the same kind of display this season and set an example to those wanting to move in the u20s in the future.

Aimee Hollingsworth joins the u20s in order to develop herself further both as a player and a qualified coach. As a new comer to the sport, Aimee has progressed significantly over the last 2 years and her keenness to work with junior players has been well recognised by Coventry Blaze Academy. It is hoped with the involvement of the team this will assist in developing over the next 12 months and making Aimee a crucial part of the setup either at Solihull or Coventry.

Kristaps Lejins is a larger than life member of the team from last season that returns to the u20s. A key figure of the team that can play a number of roles on and off the ice, keeping us entertained during the season. A player who gives it his all and will work hard for all of his team mates. The coaching staff are pleased Kristap’s is returning to the team.
