In front of a large, 400+ home crowd, the EDG Property Solihull Barons marked their return to Hobs Moat ice on Sunday evening with an emphatic win over the Nottingham Lions in a result which helps maintain the Barons position in the very tight Moralee title chasing pack.
The Barons were one up within a little over a minute of the game start following a powerplay chance which saw Niklas Ottosson fire home from the centre of the blueline into the top left of the Lions net. The play would continue to flow end to end for the next ten minutes before Toby Fisher levelled for the visitors, making use of traffic in the goal area to to send the puck through Graham Laverick’s legs and into the home goal.
