Jacob Race makes Barons move

The EDG Property Solihull Barons are pleased to announce the signing of teenage forward Jacob Race to the squad for the upcoming 23/24 Moralee season. Jacob is one of a number of new younger signings we will have in line with new EIHA regulations designed to encourage player development through all levels of the National leagues.

Jacob himself began as a junior at Solihull before going over to the Coventry academy. Since turning senior he has ice both the N1 and N2 Nottingham Lions but has taken the step back over to Solihull to continue his growth as a player.

“I’m currently 19 years old and have been playing hockey since I was 8. I first started in the Barons junior system and got to watch many games of the NIHL team at that time. To now play for the team I have watched growing up is an exciting step in my hockey career, I look forward to stepping back out on the Solihull ice again.

Phil Lee was keen to give Jacob the opportunity to make the most of the time at Solihull, continuing his development while proving a useful asset on game nights.

“Jacob is a young guy who shows much promise and with a keenness to develop his game.  Having started his junior hockey career with Solihull, it is fantastic to see him join the team he grew up watching and now play Senior hockey at Solihull.  Jacob is quick on his feet and forechecks and backchecks well.  I look forward to helping with his development and hope you will all give this local lad a warm welcome to the Team. Welcome on-board Jacob.

Please join with us in welcoming Jacob back home to Hobs Moat and give him a cheer when he makes his debut in September.
