The EIHA have today released the much anticipated 2022-23 schedule for what will be a 32 game regular season kicking off on the weekend of the 10/11 September. The welcome return of the Deeside Dragons following the return of their Flintshire rink to sporting use, has given us a 9 team North 1 Division, with a schedule which will see each side play each of the others twice home and away.
The Barons have our already announced pre-season ties against the NIHL2 Telford Tigers on the 4th September (home) and 10th September (away).
The season starts in earnest however the following night, Sunday 11th, as the Barons open up their 2022-23 Moralee campaign with a trip to Lancashire to take on the Blackburn Hawks and this is followed by a drive up to the Whitley Warriors the following weekend.
Sunday 25th September however is the big date for your diaries as the Barons get a chance to make their home league debut when they take on the Sheffield Scimitars at Hobs Moat. Face-off is at 5.30pm – our regular puck drop time for the upcoming season.
October will then be a busy month for the Barons as we first have an away double-header against Solway and Widnes. The fixture list then rolls into a run of four home Sunday games, starting on 9th October when we welcome Billingham before we host in turn Blackburn, Whitley and Deeside.
