Stokes steps up for Solihull

The TC Cars Solihull Barons are thrilled to announce the signing of high-profile defenceman Jordan Stokes. Despite his relative youth, 22 year old Stokes brings with him significant experience having iced for GB at U18 level, EPL for Hull and Manchester and at Elite level for Coventry Blaze. Most recently he helped guard the blue line for Milton Keynes at NIHL national level through the 19-20 season.

Stokes is of course no stranger to Hobs Moat having laced up the skates for the Barons as a teenager for a number of games back in 2015-16 and Jordan has spoken of his excitement at returning to Solihull :

“I am looking forward to being back at the Barons and having a successful season, competing at the top of the table and playing alongside lads i’ve grown up with throughout juniors. I can’t wait to get on the ice and show the fans what I can do and help the team in any way I can.”

For Callum Bowley, when the opportunity to add a defensive player of the quality of Stokes came along, the decision to bring him to the Barons was a no-brainer :

“I am very pleased to welcome Stokesy to the Barons. He’s a big signing for our club and despite still being relatively young, he has a vast amount of experience from playing in the Elite League, EPL and NIHL with the Telford Tigers. The fans will love watching him play and I expect him to be a top defenceman in our league. He’s strong in one-on-one situations, skates very well, and will play a huge role in helping us achieve our goals next season. When I took over from Dangie, I wanted to recruit a team that is capable of competing against the best and only bring in quality signings that would improve our team, and in Jordan, we’ve done just that. I hope the fans join me in giving Jordan a huge welcome!”

There are just a couple more signings to round of the Barons squad, so stay tuned over the next few days for the announcements of the last pieces of that particular jigsaw.
