After a shaky start to their Moralee division campaign a pair of hard won away ties has catapulted the Lookers of Yardley Solihull Barons to fifth place in the division.

On Saturday the Solihull Barons gained their second victory in a week over the Sheffield Senators with a solid win at Ice Sheffield. Tom Soar opened the scoring for the Barons in just under two minutes of the puck drop. By the middle of the game the Barons had put the puck in the net no fewer than five times, Soar getting another, alongside a goal apiece for Rob Eley, Tomas Janak and Niklas Ottosson.

A high sticks incident saw Solihull's Josh Bruce thrown form the game and the remainder of the tie would be dominated more by penalties disrupting the Baron's scoring flow. Niklas Ottosson would however complete his hat-trick before the game end.

On Sunday the Barons took the long bus ride North to take on the Billingham Stars and they would bring home another two points with a hard won victory. The Barons quickly imposed their style of play on Billingham and by the half hour mark the visiting side were leading 3-1, thanks to a pair of goals from Josh Bruce and a single from linemate Joe Henry. The Stars however dug deep and with ten minutes to go had pulled things back level. It would however be Solihull who would emerge triumphant, Niklas Ottosson and Tom Soar getting a pair of late goals for the Barons.

The Barons have another busy weekend coming up. On Saturday they are back in Sheffield to face the Spartans, before the same side return the favour to take on the Barons at Hobs Moat on Sunday. Face-off : 6pm.
