Matt Maurice is back with the Barons for 23\/24. A big player for Solihull and enormously popular with the fans it is with greatest pleasure that we will be having a number 15 shirt printed up once again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matt himself is desperate to pull on a Barons shirt once more following a difficult season with injury in 2022-23 :<\/p>\n

“After the disappointing early end to the season for me. I\u2019m glad to be coming back stronger than ever. Some may know that my return to Ice Hockey was dependant on whether or not I could get my shoulder surgically repaired, as such during the break I managed to have this procedure done, with enough time to recover and get back to fighting fit in time for the new season.<\/em><\/p>\n

“I hope to see all the same familiar faces around the rink who enjoy watching the Barons play. I feel like this is going to be a good season.<\/em><\/p>\n

Coach Phil Lee also knows how big a figure Matt is among the Hobs Moat Road faithful and the impact he can have on the game with his outstanding eye for goal and a very strong ability to part opposition players from the puck :<\/p>\n

“When Matt agreed to return this year, I couldn\u2019t have been more pleased.\u00a0 Unfortunately, Matt took an injury last year that meant he did not complete the season.\u00a0 This was a big loss to us, as Matts gritty and physical approach to hockey, really creates opportunities for his line mates.\u00a0 Matt is a very talented player with an ability to finish and we look forward to welcoming Matt back to the Team.<\/em><\/p>\n
