It was with a great sadness that on Friday 2nd March we lost Catherine \u2018Curly\u2019 Eley after a very brave 7 year battle with cancer. A truly inspirational individual, Catherine\u2019s tremendous determination, smile and humour will be missed by so many.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Catherine was of course the wife of Barons legend Rob and the inspiration and driving force behind his 19 for 19 testimonial year which ultimately raised over \u00a350,000 for local cancer charities.<\/b><\/p>\n

At Sunday\u2019s Solihull Barons versus Solway Sharks match the rink resounded to a minutes applause from the supporters, players and officials of both sides in honour of Catherine.<\/b><\/p>\n

Our thoughts as a team – players, officials and supporters – are with Rob, Will their son and the family at this very, very difficult time.<\/b><\/p>\n
