Barons bring in import forward Filip Supa but say a sad goodbye to Tomas

The TC Cars Solihull Barons are pleased to announe the signing of Slovak forward Filip Supa for the upcoming 2018-19 Moralee Conference season. The 29 year old Supa came through the ranks of HC Topolcany in his home country but more recently has made an imapct for a number of sides including the Widnes Wild, Deeside Dragons and Chelmsford Chieftains. Most recently Supa iced for the Telford Tigers for the second half of last season averaging over a point a game.

The 2018-19 season however also marks the departure of Tomas Janak from the Barons line-up as “I’m retiring from this level of hockey and commitment”. In his five seasons with the Barons Tomas, playing on both forward and D-lines, scored fifty times and held the C through the 2016-17 season. NIHL hockey demands a lot from the players in terms of the week-in and week-out training, travelling and playing. We are sure all Baron’s supporters will appreciate his position and wish Tomas the very best in his future and that he will not be a stranger to Hobs Moat for too long.

Phil Mulchay is also taking a year out as he has taken a job in La Plange in the French Alps. He said “he really enjoyed his time in Solihull and the team and fans were awesome and would very much like to be part of Solihull again in the future”
