Head coach of the Motor Nation Solihull Barons, Darren Bellerby is delighted to continue to flesh out his squad with the welcome return of forward Andy Whitehouse and defenceman Luke Smith.

The pair represent both continuity and the bringing through of the best players from the Solihull junior system into increasingly prominent positions with the senior team.

Both Smith and Whitehouse will enter their third full season with the Barons having also guested for the senior team while playing as under 18s with the Solihull Knights.

The tall, rangey Smith plays a calm, and unflustered style, making the most of his spread to cut down opposition angles and options.

A highly disciplined player on the ice, Smith incredibly amassed only a single minor penalty in the last two years on the Barons second and third defensive lines.

Andrew Whitehouse is also an upcoming Barons star. The Coach's Young Player of the Year for 2012-13 was a regular on the score sheet with six goals and five assists over the course of the season.

With a strong work ethic and a determination to improve, the 20 year old will hope to build on his point tally into the 2013-14 campaign.
