The Barons are back for 2012-13

Familiar faces will pull on the red & white jerseys next season

Following a series of trials at the end of last month, coach Darren Bellerby has released the names of the Solihull Barons roster for the upcoming 2012-13 season.

It will be a familiar looking side which takes to the ice as the Barons challenge for National Ice Hockey League honours.

Ex-Baron Dave Roxburgh returns to mind the Solihull net after a couple of years away at University which saw him play for a variety of sides including national league rivals the Sheffield Senators.

Sharing duties between the pipes will be returnee Hayden Laverick who will begin his fourth season with Solihull. His younger brother Graham will provide the Barons with a third goalie option.

Rich Slater and Phil Knight will be popular returnees for the Barons

A welcome returnee to the Barons roster is defenceman Phil Knight who lost most of last season to inury.

Joining him on the blue line will be fast improving Luke Smith who established himself as a fixture on defence lines last season.

Completing the defence, 2011-12 captain Adz Andrews joins the already announced Chris Allen, Eddie Slater and Mike Roger.

Complementing Rob Eley on the forward lines will be the experienced Erik Bakalar, Neil Adams and Toni Scialdone. Youngsters Andy Whitehouse, Ryan James and Charlie Hammerton will also hope to link up to provide an effective attack.

Ex-Coventry forward Ian Hunt comes in to help strengthen the side.

Favourites Lui Brindle, Rob Perks and Dale Buckland also return to provide energy in taking the puck to the opposition.

The full Barons roster for 2012-13 can be seen here.

The season kicks off on the 9th September away against the Deeside Dragons (ex. Flintshire Freeze) with the first home fixture versus Blackburn Eagles on the 16th September.

In the meantime a reminder that your first chance to see the 2012-13 Barons will be on the 18th August versus Coventry in the Help for Heroes challenge. We hope to see you there !
